Sign me
I like the idea of signs and wanted to do a couple of shots using signs to see if it worked. So in the future it could be a possible route.

Identity
I like the theme of identity and hope to use this in my second year. The bottom two images were photographs that I did in first year for a project called private/public. I wanted to come back to these and make them more effective so they would shock my viewer. I wanted to give off the sense of plastic, as I believe we are in a world that subjects ourselves to peer pressure, especially with women and image. So many females are having plastic surgery to become the ideal image due to media and social pressure. I wanted to exaggerate this and make my subject completely plastic. So that her identity has been taken, and I believe in years to come that every female will end up having plastic surgery as it will be seen as the fashion. I just think it's really creepy.
The top image was just a manipulation of mixing a female and male face together. I'm not quite sure where I was going with this, yet I think it's quite effective. You need to look closely to see both faces.

Character in Tunisia
I went to Tunisia in the summer and thought I would take some photographs to show their cutlture, I wanted to photograph quiet streets. However, I found out that they don't like you to capture the streets where tourists aren't there as it's quite dangerous! All round the streets are police with machine guns this was quite nerve racking and we had all be warned previously to be careful where to point our cameras. This dissapointed me. I thought instead which is quite humourous that I would go to the zoo thinking we are in North Africa that they would have some quite interesting animals! I was wrong. They had chiwawas as an animal to see, chickens, sheep, goats and birds and something called a mourish turtle! So I was shocked thinking I would see tigers to find sheep. They were quite funny looking so I took some pictures.

Dramatic south wings
I went to the Isle of Wight recently. One of the days, I headed down to the beach and this old man was throwing bread to all these seagulls. I thought it would be a great opportunity to capture some motion images with the birds fighting to grab pieces of bread. I had just got a new camera and wanted to try it out. These are my results, I took about 500 pictures and lets just say it took me a few days to go through all of them and try and pick the best ones. I did edit a few to bring out the different colours, so my images didn't look so dull. I think it's quite hard trying to time the perfect image where the birds were just sweeping down to collect bread. This gave me good practice for motion images.
I think this one is my best shot due to the timing of the two seagulls. I think it was lucky that I was balancing my camera on the wall so the photograph is framed with the lovely blurred out background.
